Courses
The founder of Spiral Earth, Paul Exall, provides a variety of courses
for ceramics instruction and artistic workshops.
Instruction is available
for both groups and private individuals.
Long-term courses are available
in Manchester and outlying areas, while short-term courses are occasionally
offered in other regions of the country.

Courses run for periods of 4 to 10 weeks, meeting once a week for 2
to 4 hours, and beginning throughout the year. The courses are designed
to take the participants through the full range of hand building and decoration
techniques used in ceramics development. The courses begin with a focus
on modeling and they lead up to the development of original work by the
individual.
Specifically, you (the student-artist) will be creating your own
ceramic artwork, which will be kiln-fired, and will result in a completed
work for you to keep.
The cost of the course includes all materials and supplies.
- Novice Courses are designed to help students develop the essential skills in ceramics: structuring, modeling, and designing.
- Intermediate Courses are intended for those students with prior experience who would like to develop advanced techniques and begin to work on their own projects.
- Private Individual and Group Courses can be arranged at any time throughout the year for individuals or groups who cannot meet for the other courses or require special instruction.
